If you don’t know what can you do with your data or you are unsure of the chosen method. You better have a look at The Data Visualization Catalogue.
The Data Visualization Catalogue is a project developed by Severino Ribecca to create a library of different information visualization types.
In his portfolio, there is not only the catalog but many other visualizations.
Why I make this recommendation?
For me, to have a data visualization catalog was the best way to work faster and cleaner, especially when I was at the beginning of my career.
But, once with the time, you can create your own gallery in the tool that you use the most. See below the catalog a similar version in Tableau.
Tableau version:
This catalog provides you not only the guideline (what to use and where), it provides you the logic behind Tableau of building a similar visualization.
Maybe your data is not structured as the one from the examples made by Andy Kriebel, but it’s a good start anyway.
